At Nookshot Gundogs we can train your gundog to suit your own specific needs; basic obedience, training for the gun in the field - either rough shooting or as a peg dog, beating and picking up, or training for working tests and field trials.

John "Spike" Forster has over 15 years of experience in training gundogs and working in the shooting environment. He has an excellent reputation for producing high quality gundogs.

You can have your dog trained by us with the dog boarding at our comfortable, secure, clean kennels, usually for about four to six months depending on the individual rate of progress. We also offer training classes for labrador and spaniel owners. The actual training programme can be tailored to group, or individual needs. Nookshot Gundogs are based on a famous Sussex sporting estate and have unrivalled access to a 2000 acre training classroom! This includes almost every type of English game in residence, with the added benefit of a training pen for more advanced training and steadying of your dog to the flush of live game. The pen is fully stocked with rabbits and pheasants. Training days in a shooting environment are also available.
