The junior handlers
of the United Retriever Club sponsored by UK Gundogs
carried out a 30 min Gundog display at the Game Fair
held at Beviour Castle.
The team consisting
of Molly Sargeant age 6 with Jess, Amilia Jonson aged
9 with Briony, Oliver Sargeant aged 10 with Gilly, Thomas
Sargeant aged 12 with Jay and Jack Faulkner aged 13
with Poppy.
Arthur Sargeant
was the team co-ordinator and commentator with Casper
Jonson having the important role as the arena helper.
The Team prior to the event had only 2 practice sessions
with the last one being held early on the Saturday morning
in the Gundog arena.
The display went
extremely well with a large crowd enjoying the handlers
putting the dogs through various exercises involving
obedience, steadiness, stopping to the whistle, directional
control, agility and retrieving. Demonstrating dog training
abilities well beyond their years, the whole team was
extremely excited and proud with their performance.
